Our history began well before 1989, the year Consystem was founded. Its roots date back to 1970, when Sprague Electric Co. opened its Italian subsidiary, Sprague Italiana, marking the beginning of a journey in the electronics industry that would continue to evolve over time.

In 1976, Sprague Italiana was acquired by the Italian-Swiss Carlo Gavazzi Group, leading to the creation of Carlo Gavazzi Componenti and progressively strengthening its market presence through the integration of new brands, expertise and technical know-how.

A key milestone came in 1999, when the management team carried out a management buy-out, acquiring CeFrA’s shares within the Carlo Gavazzi Group. This marked the beginning of a new entrepreneurial phase, defined by growth, development and consolidation.

In 2009, CeFrA was incorporated into Consystem S.r.l., founded in 1989. This gave rise to an even stronger and more structured organization, capable of entering new markets, expanding its product portfolio and reinforcing its commitment to technologically advanced solutions.
